Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Thursday!

Here’s what you need to know this week:

This Sunday

This Sunday, full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Choir will meet in the choir room at 8:35am.

Notes

  • This Sunday will look a little different with all the things we have going on the stage! The new screens and acoustic panels will be installed next week. There is a possibility that the choir room will be a little difficult to navigate Sunday morning; I will text everyone if that is the case and we will just meet on stage.

  • Save the date: to wrap up the Spring semester, we are going to have a “Night of Worship in the Psalms“ on Sunday evening, May 4 at 5:00p, involving kids and students as well. The Wednesday rehearsal on April 30 will be an extended rehearsal until 8:00 to help prep for this service.

  • There is a baby shower for Kiri Jenkins (cello in our orchestra) coming up on this Sunday at 1:30p. Here’s the invitation if you’re interested.

Prayer requests

  • The Langford family, as Ty prepares to be deployed.

  • Regan Bagci, recovering from leg surgery.

  • Diane Arms (Pastor Jimmy’s wife), recovering from heart surgery.

  • Terri Ritter’s sister-in-law, Adrienne, undergoing cancer treatments. Terri and Skip are helping take care of her.

  • Drucilla Ray (alto), who fell and hurt her back.

An Extra

This Sunday is traditionally known as Palm Sunday, the day we traditionally commemorate Christ’s triumphal entry into Jersusalem (you know: donkey, palm branches, etc). I think I shared this article last year (?) but I wanted to share again in case you missed it.

If you didn’t already know (I certainly didn’t until last year or so), Jesus was not the first person to ride into Jerusalem on a donkey. Years and years before Jesus, Solomon, the son of David, did the same thing, and the connections are super interesting. This is a great read to begin your Holy Week (the week leading up to Easter), so check it out!

Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you Sunday.
