Happy Thursday!
Multigen Sunday is coming up! Here’s what you need to know this week:
This Sunday
This Sunday, full worship ministry is leading, along with our friends from kids choir and student worship arts! Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Choir will meet in the choir room at 8:35am.
Click below for the Scripture text and order of service, or to view/hear the music in Planning Center.
Notes
Great job on Sunday, handling all the extras in our commissioning service for Kingdom Community Church! It was a great day in the life of our church, and I know you will join me in praying for KCC and their Gospel faithfulness and fruitfulness.
Here’s the upcoming schedule with Spring Break approaching:
Sunday, March 16: full worship ministry leads
Wednesday, March 19: no worship ministry rehearsals
Sunday, March 23: band/praise team only leads (no choir, orchestra)
Anthems coming up:
Mar. 9: Alleluia, Amen!
Mar. 30: Is He Worthy
April 6: Mercy Tree
April 20: Risen Savior (Sing My Soul)
Save the date: to wrap up the Spring semester, we are going to have a “Night of Worship in the Psalms“ on Sunday evening, May 4, involving kids and students as well. More info to come soon.
Prayer requests
Madison Rawls, having surgery on both hips March 17. Pray that this alleviates the pain she is experiencing.
Jennifer Acuff, having breathing and lung issues with RSV and pneumonia.
Peggy Carr’s cousin, having to make the decision to take her husband off the ventilator.
Mike Anderson, having leg pains and seeking answers.
Praise: Teri Anderson’s CT scan yesterday was completely clear.
Kathleen Marshall, recovering from falling and fracturing her hip.
Continue to pray for Amanda and Colby as they grieve a pregnancy loss.
Amanda Johnson (alto) recently found out she was expecting twins and has experienced a pregnancy loss in the past couple days of one or both babies. Please pray for comfort for Colby and Amanda.
An Extra
With Multigen Sunday coming up, here’s a great quick-read article about raising up future worship leaders. Over the past couple decades, we’ve seen a huge shift in the way people view music education, and that has changed the way churches approach music in worship.
It’s easy to get caught up in the needs of Sunday morning, but churches need to think about the future and plant seeds that will blossom years from now. This takes strategy, time, money, and sacrifice.
It might look like kids choirs, student band, and even an on campus music-training program (like our very own School of Performing Arts).
I’m so thankful for a church who invests in future worship leaders! Thank you for setting an example that I pray other churches will follow.
Here’s that article again if you missed it above.
Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you Sunday.
