Happy Friday!
Here’s what you need to know this week:
This Sunday
This Sunday, full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage.
Click below for the Scripture text and order of service, or to view/hear the music in Planning Center.
Notes
We had a great rehearsal attendance on Wednesday! Remember—one of the best ways for you to help us to improve and grow together (spiritually, musically, family-ly?) is simply to be here. Thank you for your faithfulness.
January-February is a great time to invite someone to come check out worship ministry. We’ve already had a few guests with us this year—who else can you invite to join us?
You can pick up a choir CD for this semester on the choir room tables if you haven’t already.
Prayer requests
Reagan Bagci, having surgery today to remove a nodule. His allograft is failing, and they need to make some decisions. Pray for wisdom for Ali and Michelle.
Betty Speck, starting cancer treatment radiation on Feb. 3.
Diane Arms, Jimmy Arms’ wife, having heart surgery.
Patsy Howell (Harold Howell’s widow) is in the hospital with a brain tumor. They are not sure if it is cancerous.
Karen Joyce, whose husband John passed away Wednesday.
An Extra
How should we choose songs for our corporate worship gatherings? Here’s a recent article that uses the image of a filter. There are thousands of worship songs available to us via the internet: what filters do we have in place to ensure we use good ones? What even constitutes a good song? These are all questions we have to wrestle with especially in the days of virtually unlimited resource options.
I’ve read Dr. Burggraff’s research on this topic, and it’s very good. I look forward to sharing a few more of his blog posts as they become available.
See you Sunday,
Andy
