Happy Thursday!
It was great to be back with you last night. Here’s what you need to know this week:
This Sunday
This Sunday, full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage.
Click below for the Scripture text and order of service, or to view/hear the music in Planning Center.
Notes
Kids choirs and Student Worship Arts will resume this Sunday evening at 5:00p. SWA is our new student choir program. If you’d like to sit in and help the students learn their parts, we’d love to have more adults help! Just let me know you’re interested.
You can pick up a choir CD for this semester on the choir room tables.
Prayer requests
The family of Linda Evans, who passed away. Visitation will be Tuesday at noon at HHH, with a memorial service to follow at 1:00.
Emily Leopold’s brother and his wife, in the process of adopting. A hearing for termination of parental rights has been set for May 14 for the biological parents.
Betty Speck, starting cancer treatment radiation on Feb. 3.
Bridget Horner, who has second procedure tomorrow.
Paige Gazaway’s aunt, who has cancer and probably not much time left to live.
Tracy Bruneau’s son and daughter in law, who are having some complications with their pregnancy of twins. They are anticipating an early delivery.
Pastor Scott as he continues to recover from surgery.
An Extra
Charles Spurgeon was a famous Baptist pastor in England in the 19th century, and is often referred to as the “Prince of Preachers.” One of our U.S. presidents (James A. Garfield) once attended at worship service at Spurgeon’s church and described the congregation’s singing. I thought this was a great way to describe our vision for faith-filled, wall-shaking singing from the redeemed.
In biblical faithfulness, let’s shoot for this in all our leading, singing, accompanying, sound mixing, and button pressing:
““The whole building was filled and overflowed with the strong volume of song. The music made itself felt as a living, throbbing presence, that entered your nerves, brain, heart, and filled and swept you away in its resistless current.””
See you Sunday,
Andy
