Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Saturday!

I missed you all on Wednesday night while I was out of town for my doctoral seminar, and I’m very grateful to everyone who helped cover things for me during rehearsal. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Here’s what you need to know this week.

This Sunday

This Sunday, full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage.

Notes

  • Lord willing, yes, full choir and orchestra are back to leading worship tomorrow!

  • Kids choirs and Student Worship Arts will also resume this Sunday evening at 5:00p. This is our new student choir program. If you’d like to sit in and help the students learn their parts, we’d love to have more adults help! Just let me know you’re interested.

  • You can pick up a choir CD for this semester on the choir room tables.

  • The door code to get back into the choir room area is 2064. Please do not share this code with anyone outside of worship ministry.

Prayer requests

  • Betty Speck, starting cancer treatment radiation on Feb. 3.

  • Bridget Horner, recovering well from her procedure. Pathology results are expected Monday.

  • Pastor Scott as he continues to recover from surgery.

  • Pray for our continued ministry in 2025—that we would honor Christ and serve the church well through the worship ministry, as well as the ministry of the entire church.

An Extra

One of the great new congregational songs we’ll be learning this semester is new song by the Gettys and a few other writers called Christus Victor. Here’s a great write-up summary of the song by Trevin Wax. Take a listen—the plan is to learn it in a few weeks to have it ready to sing again at Easter.

See you tomorrow,
Andy
