Happy Thursday!
I missed you all on Wednesday night, but I’m ready to get the year started in worship ministry! Here’s what you need to know this week.
***There is a chance the winter weather affects our services on Sunday. Any important changes will be communicated via text, email, and our church social media channels.
This Sunday
This Sunday, full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage.
The sermon text for the day comes from 1 Corinthians 1:10-17, and Jesse will be preaching.
We’re singing At Calvary, Glorious Day, At the Cross (Love Ran Red), and The Power of the Cross (O to See the Dawn).
Notes
Lord willing, full choir and orchestra are back to leading worship this Sunday, January 12.
Kids choirs and Student Worship Arts will also resume this Sunday evening at 5:00p. This is our new student choir program. If you’d like to sit in and help the students learn their parts, we’d love to have more adults help! Just let me know you’re interested.
The door code to get back into the choir room area is 2064. Please do not share this code with anyone outside of worship ministry.
Jessica Gentry’s baby shower that was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon has been postponed to Wednesday night after rehearsal. More details to come.
Prayer requests
Pastor Scott as he continues to recover from surgery.
Bridget Horner, who recently got a cancer diagnosis. Please pray for wisdom as they explore treatment options and make a plan.
Pray for our continued ministry in 2025—that we would honor Christ and serve the church well through the worship ministry, as well as the ministry of the entire church.
An Extra
We’ve got a bunch of great new music to sing this year, and I’m looking forward to digging into it. I’ll share some of the new ones over the next few weeks.
I’ve shared this a cappella arrangement of Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me with you before, but I finally found the sheet music for it! It’s very well done, and will be a good, challenging piece for us to work on.
See you Sunday,
Andy
