Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Friday!

Here’s what you need to know this week.

This Sunday

Full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Choir meets in the choir room at 8:35am.

The sermon text for the day comes from Genesis 12:1-9, and Pastor Scott will be preaching.

We’re singing There is Power in the Blood, Rejoice, Yet Not I But Through Christ in Me, and Jesus You Alone.

Notes

  • Important schedule reminder: There will be no Wednesday rehearsals next week (Oct. 9), and next Sunday (Oct.13) will be led by band and praise team only.

  • As we mentioned Wednesday night, Stevens Street will have a float in the Christmas parade this year (Dec.14). Eric Edgemon will be taking the lead on this project, and if you’d like to help, you can contact him at Edgemon.eric@gmail.com or 931-265-4215.

  • Just your periodic reminder: the access code to the backstage choir room area is 2064. Please do not share this code with anyone outside worship ministry.

  • Christmas in Cookeville has been scheduled for December 13 and December 15. Please mark your calendars and plan to be a part! It’s going to be great.

Prayer requests

  • Dennis Baker and family, whose father passed away last week.

  • Reagan Bagci, CT scan on Oct. 15 to look at a spot. He will have knee surgery on Oct.16, and hopefully nothing further based on the CT scan.

  • Colby Johnson, in a detox facility. Pray that he will stay in treatment long term.

  • Amanda Johnson, consult on Monday with a surgeon for her leg.

  • Lynda, Kelly Milligan’s aunt, who has stage 4 breast cancer and not given long to live. Pray for Jim (husband) and their two kids.

  • Maleah Keith and family, as her husband Joshua is deployed with the military.

  • Thomas Jacobs, cancer treatments.

An Extra

I think I shared this video before, but since we’re singing this song on Sunday, I thought I’d give you another chance to listen if you missed it the first time. This is my favorite arrangement of this song, and I’m trying to track down the sheet music for it.

See you Sunday,
Andy
