Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Friday!

Here’s what you need to know this week.

This Sunday

Full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Choir meets in the choir room at 8:35am.

The sermon text for the day comes from Matthew 18:11-35, and Pastor Scott will be preaching.

We’re singing This is Amazing Grace, Holy Forever, Grace Greater Than Our Sin, and Great Are You Lord.

Notes

  • Thank you for participating in our Worship Weekend retreat! I thought things went great, and I pray you feel encouraged in your role leading worship, whether it’s by singing, playing, or serving in A/V.

  • College students return this Sunday. As you meet them, encourage them to participate in worship ministry!

  • Christmas in Cookeville has been scheduled for the weekend of December 15. Please mark your calendars.

Prayer requests

  • Richard Miller (Glee’s husband) in the hospital with pneumonia.

  • Madison Rawls, who is sick.

  • Betty Chaffin’s brother and nephew, who both have cancer.

  • Pat Bowman, who fell and hurt herself this week.

  • Reagan Bagci, having knee procedure on Oct.16.

  • Emily Leopold’s brother’s adoption process.

  • Debbie (Callie Herman’s aunt), with stage 4 kidney failure and given two weeks to live.

An Extra

I hope you enjoyed our guests for the worship retreat! I don’t think they’d mind me sharing some of their work with you.

Mike Harland has a few books out there, but Worship Essentials is his latest. A lot of the content he spoke about is in this book. You can find it on Amazon here.

As we mentioned Friday night, Jon and Suzanne Rushing used to have a full time intinerant music ministry. I found one of their music albums on Spotify from way back in 2003! (It’s called Sweet Trust if you want to look it up on another music player).

See you Sunday,
Andy
