Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Thursday!

Here’s what you need to know this week:

This Sunday

Full worship ministry is leading - choir, band, and orchestra. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Call time for choir is 8:30am in the choir room.

The sermon text for the day comes from Titus 2, and Pastor Scott will be preaching. It will also be Graduate Sunday, when we recognize high school grads.

We’re singing Christ the True and Better, Yet Not I But Through Christ in Me, and He Will Hold Me Fast.

Notes

  1. In the month of June while I am on sabbatical, we’ll have a few guest conductors to direct the choir anthems each week. Over the next few rehearsals, these individuals will be rehearsing their songs with the choir, so please make every effort to be here and give them your full attention! I love having so many capable musicians and leaders in our worship ministry.

  2. This weekend, we will be having this semester’s School of Performing Arts recitals, where many of our students will perform pieces they’ve been working on. You are invited to come get a taste of what the School of Performing Arts is all about! There are five recitals: Friday at 5:00p and 7:00p, and Saturday at 10:00a, 1:00p, and 3:00p.

  3. Speaking of our School of Performing Arts, our brand new homeschool band program is officially open for registration. You can find more information on our website here. Please share with whomever you think would find that information valuable, and if you have a heart to help us get this up and running, feel free to reach out to April or me.

Prayer requests

  • Emily Leopold (alto), expecting her third child in November. Pray for a healthy pregnancy.

  • Reagan Bacgi, having x-rays today to watch the positioning of a screw in his bone.

  • Pat Bowman, who hurt her finger severely at work.

  • Kim Hanna, recovering from total knee replacement surgery.

  • Charles Taylor (orchestra member), with weakness in his legs and balance problems due to Parkinson’s.

  • Kathleen Marshall, undergoing chemo treatments.

An Extra

Some of our favorite publishers have been doing some great book giveaways recently. Here’s a really good one for you today: Brett McCracken’s The Wisdom Pyramid. This book is probably on my top 20 books to recommend for Christians. It’s not too long, but it’s insightful and practical. In an information-overload age full of beeps and distractions, how can we prioritize the right things as Christians? You’ll love this book, and it’s free!

In the book, he unpacks this helpful pyramid. Check it out!

I am so thankful for you all. I’ll see you Sunday.
- Andy
