Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Thursday!

Here’s what you need to know this week:

This Sunday

Full worship ministry is leading - choir, band, and orchestra. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Call time for choir is 8:30am in the choir room. The big anthem, Psalm 24, is up!

The sermon text for the day comes from Acts 6:1-7, and Pastor Scott will be preaching.

We’re singing Psalm 24, There’s Power in the Blood, All I Have is Christ, and King of Kings.

Order of service

Notes

  1. Great rehearsal last night! Thank you for your continued attendance and preparation. Our next big project is to prepare for the month of June, when we will be leading big anthems each week, but without midweek choir rehearsals. The best way you can help us get ready is to attend every single rehearsal you can.

  2. Here’s your periodic reminder to block out dates in Planning Center if you know you’ll be out. This is a big help for us in planning services to know what personnel we will have. If you aren’t sure how to do this, this guy on YouTube made a 35 second video to show you how to do it with the Planning Center app. Several of you did this last week, and that’s so great!

  3. We’ve mentioned it a few times, but our brand new School of Performing Arts homeschool band program is officially open for registration beginning Monday. You can find more information on our website here. Please share with whomever you think would find that information valuable, and if you have a heart to help us get this up and running, feel free to reach out to April or me. (Remember, most of the members of that fantastic orchestra you heard last night in worship ministry rehearsal started out as little 5th and 6th graders!). We want to help sow the seeds of future church musicians to serve the church for decades to come.

Prayer requests

  • Reagan Bacgi, possibly looking at a surgery to fix the positioning of a screw in his bone. Pray that next week’s x-rays will reveal that they will not have to do this.

  • Pat Bowman, who hurt her finger severely at work.

  • Charles Taylor (orchestra member), with weakness in his legs and balance problems due to Parkinson’s.

  • Skip Ritter, undergoing extensive spinal surgery on April 17.

  • Kathleen Marshall, undergoing chemo treatments.

An Extra

How about another free book? In keeping with the theme of Holy Week, Crossway is offering a free e-book version of The Final Days of Jesus, which is an extensive look at the days leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection. Check it out here, and while you’re at it, check out Christ Over All, the ministry that is sponsoring the giveaway. It’s one of my go-to stops weekly for monthly topical articles about different points of theology. They are careful writers who engage seriously with Scripture, and with kind and generous approach.

I’ll see you Sunday,
- Andy
