Happy Thursday!
Here’s what you need to know this week:
This Sunday
Full worship ministry is leading - choir, band, and orchestra. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Call time for choir is 8:30am in the choir room.
The sermon text for the day comes from Acts 5:12-42, and Jesse Haywood will be preaching.
We’re singing Rejoice, Made Me Glad, The Blood of Jesus Speaks for Me, and Come Unto Jesus.
Notes
Thank you for all your hard work and preparation for our Good Friday and Easter services! Things went great from a practical standpoint, but more importantly, Jesus was honored and the Gospel was sung and celebrated.
Here’s your periodic reminder to block out dates in Planning Center if you know you’ll be out. This is a big help for us in planning services to know what personnel we will have. If you aren’t sure how to do this, this guy on YouTube made a 35 second video to show you how to do it with the Planning Center app.
Just a reminder about another free resource for you that I mentioned a couple weeks ago. It’s a great book about why we can trust the Bible.
Prayer requests
Reagan Bacgi—they are getting a CT scan next Wednesday, and he has a surgery scheduled April 11 to make an adjustment to his knee.
Charles Taylor (orchestra member), with weakness in his legs and balance problems due to Parkinson’s.
Skip Ritter, undergoing extensive spinal surgery on April 17.
Kathleen Marshall, undergoing chemo treatments.
An Extra (well, a question)
I had a conversation earlier this week with one of you about using commentaries to study the Bible. That made me start to wonder: do you often use resources to help you study the Bible?
Whether it’s a study Bible, online resource, or commentary, I’d be interested to know what you are currently using to look up hard passages or study the Bible more in depth. Let me know by filling out the form below or shooting me an email: what are your favorite resources to use?
I’ll see you Sunday,
- Andy
