Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Friday!

Here’s what you need to know this week:

This Sunday

Full worship ministry is leading - choir, band, and orchestra. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Call time for choir is 8:30am in the choir room. The big anthem, All to Us, is up!

The sermon text for the day comes from Acts 1:1-11, and Pastor Scott will be preaching.

We’re singing Victory in Jesus, May the Peoples Praise You, O Praise the Name (Anástasis), and All to Us.

Notes

  1. Just a quick schedule reminder to block off Good Friday (March 29) if you can. We are planning a Good Friday worship service for that evening.

  2. Be sure to pick up your Spring listening CD in the choir room if you haven’t already, and listen to it! Remember, for several of our songs this year, you can find custom tracks for your voice part on Planning Center if you’d like the extra help.

  3. Today and Saturday, our church is hosting the Tennessee Youth Worship Project, which is a statewide event to encourage student church musicians. The event ends Saturday with a worship service at 2:00 to demonstrate the songs they will be working on, so if you’d like to see what we’ve been up to, feel free come to our worship center at that time and check it out!

Prayer requests

  • Praise: Joshua and Amy Lou Gentry have welcomed a healthy baby boy. There is a meal train set up, so if you’d like to be a part of that, just click here.

  • Debbie Baker’s sister-in-law, Millie (cancer), who is not doing well.

  • The family of Ronnie Greenwood, former choir member, who passed away.

  • Veldon Hall’s stepmom, Louise (96), recovering from the flu.

  • Dennis Baker, recovering from knee replacement surgery.

  • Roger Depew and family; Roger’s sister passed away.

  • Reagan Bagci (along with Ali and Michelle). Reagan’s next milestone is an allograft surgery at St. Jude on March 11.

An Extra

I just wanted to pass along a free resource especially directed toward men. It’s a free e-book that is currently being offered by The Gospel Coalition called Disciples of a Godly Man, by Kent Hughes. I read this one a few years ago, and it’s a great encouragement to grow in faithfulness and Christlikeness. I don’t know how long it will be offered for free, so I’d take advantage of it while you can, even if you don’t think you can read it right now. If you’d like to take a look at the hard copy sometime, just drop by my office and I’ll be happy to lend it out.

(Aaaaand if you need a little help with how e-books work, I’m happy to help!)

Again, here’s that link: click here.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am praying you have a great weekend and that you come to church Sunday ready to lead our church in treasuring Christ together!
