Update from Andy
Wednesday evening, I shared with everyone that God is calling me and my family to serve at another church. This decision was difficult, and it was something that DeAnna and I prayed over for weeks. We love Stevens Street, and we love Cookeville. We love our worship ministry—not just the “programs,” but the people. It has been an absolute joy to serve here as your worship pastor.
DeAnna and I just want to be faithful to go wherever God leads and do whatever He calls us to do. It is a step of faith for us—to leave behind the friends we love and the place my family and I have called home for 8 years—but it’s a step we need to take to humbly, obediently follow Him. We will leave with tearful sorrow but expectant joy for the work ahead for us and for Stevens Street.
We’ll be moving to Decatur, Alabama where I will serve as the worship pastor at First Baptist Church Decatur. It’s a church very similar to Stevens Street, and there are some neat ministry opportunities for us there that I’m excited about. I’m happy to share more about that for whoever wants to hear.
My last Sunday leading worship at Stevens Street will be June 29. Pastor Scott and Pastor Lee will be updating everyone soon about what the month of July will look like and about the search process for Stevens Street’s next worship pastor.
My family and I covet your prayers as we make this transition. But know that we are also praying for you and for the next chapter in the life of Stevens Street. God has used this church in a huge way, and He has more plans for you in the days to come. Stay faithful, cling to the Word, and patiently trust His perfect timing and perfect will.
Thank you all for your faithful work as my co-laborers in ministry over the years, but more importantly for the way you invested in, poured into, loved on, and cared for me and my family. I thank God for Stevens Street.
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Andy
