Happy Thursday!

Here’s what you need to know this week:

This Sunday

This Sunday, full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Choir will meet in the choir room at 8:35am.

This Sunday’s choir anthem is He Will Keep You (Psalm 121).

Notes

  • Be sure to take note of our Summer rehearsal schedule below!

  • In the month of June, there will be no Wednesday choir rehearsals. However, band/orchestra/praise team will rehearse on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00p, with the exception of June 11. Full worship ministry (choir, orchestra, band, praise team) will lead every Sunday in the month of June, with the exception of June 8, which will be led by band/praise team only due to VBS.

  • In the month of July, there will be no Wednesday rehearsals at all. Each Sunday in July will be led by band/praise team only. Our worship ministry interest meeting will be July 30, and we will be back in action on August 3.

Prayer requests

  • Tracy Bruneau, just diagnosed with breast cancer.

  • Betty Speck (soprano), who is at a rehab facility.

  • Jean/Joe Bargovan, dealing with several health issues.

An Extra

I’ve gotten a few questions from church members over the past month about the new sound panels in our worship center. They have been an absolute game-changer for us, and I’m so thankful to have them! However, you may not know exactly why sticking fabric-covered frames on the walls actually helps the sound in a room. If that’s you, I have a slightly-nerdy video for you!

This video explains some of the science behind sound absorption and sound diffusion. The gentleman doing most of the talking is actually the installer who worked on our worship center. He talks about scatter face diffusers (the kind of diffusers in our space) around the 3:50 mark, and even goes into how to build one yourself (for all you carpenters out there).

Treating a room properly is a key consideration when thinking through how sound is heard and perceived in a space. Our room has been greatly improved. If you’re curious why, check out this video.

Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you Sunday.
Andy
