Notes

  • On Sunday, we will celebrate our high school graduates. You’ll see that information in the order of service for tomorrow. However, call times are still the same as usual.

  • Tomorrow is our Worship in the Psalms service at 5:00pm! Call time for band/orchestra/AV is 4:00pm on stage. Call time for choir is 4:15pm in the choir loft. Kids choirs will meet in the choir room at 4:30pm. Dress is church clothes—solid, seasonal colors are preferred.

Prayer requests

  • Karen Hall (alto), who hurt her foot. Continue to pray for healing and that she will not require surgery.

  • Betty Speck (soprano), who dislocated her shoulder and fractured her kneeecap in a fall. Pray for her as she consults with orthopedic doctors on best plan of care. She is at CRMC now.

  • Eric Edgemon, who is helping care for both parents dealing with health issues.

  • Beverly Nash, who was in the hospital a couple weeks ago with unexplained bleeding. She is waiting for biopsy results.

  • Glee Miller and family, grieving the passing of Mr. Richard.

An Extra

The doctrine of the Trinity is notoriously difficult to explain. So much so, in fact, that we can be tempted to just throw our hands up and say that the Trinity is a mystery we’ll never understand. But, as this article explains, Christians can’t afford not to understand the Trinity.

This doesn’t mean that it’s easy, but we should seek to faithfully apply biblical reasoning to truly know God as He reveals Himself in His Word. This article is a little dense (I’m not sure there’s an article on the Trinity that isn’t), but it’s a great introduction to important terms like essence, person, and eternal relations.

Check it out to dig a little into one of the most important doctrines of our faith.

The doctrine of the Trinity is like an ocean. The child wading in the shallows and the explorer diving into the depths are in the same ocean.

Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you tomorrow.
