Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Thursday!

Here’s what you need to know this week.

First, take a minute to fill out this form letting us know if you are planning to participate in Christmas in Cookeville rehearsals and services. This will help us (1) organize needed childcare, and (2) plan to have the correct number of seats!

This Sunday

Full worship ministry is leading, along with students from our Student Worship Arts ministry! Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Choir meets in the choir room at 8:35am.

The sermon text for the day comes from Luke 15:11-32, and Pastor Scott will be preaching.

We’re singing Revive Us Again, It Was Finished Upon that Cross, Ancient of Days, and Yet Not I But Through Christ in Me.

An Extra

Here’s a great article over at Desiring God about what it means to serve in the church. I really like the way the author’s words challenge our all-too-common assumption that serving in church is all about personal fulfillment. Instead, we are called to be servants, denying ourselves for the good of others, and in so doing, finding true joy and satisfaction in the footsteps of the Great Servant, Jesus Himself.

That’s how we can leave tired from church, and leave more Christ-like.

Here’s that link again.

See you Sunday,
Andy
