Happy Thursday!
Here’s what you need to know this week.
First, take a minute to fill out this form letting us know if you are planning to participate in Christmas in Cookeville rehearsals and services. This will help us (1) organize needed childcare, and (2) plan to have the correct number of seats!

This Sunday
Full worship ministry is leading. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Choir meets in the choir room at 8:35am.
The sermon text for the day comes from Luke 10:25-37, and Pastor Scott will be preaching.
We’re singing Christ Our Hope in Life and Death, Our God Will Go Before Us, Amazing Grace, and Praise His Name (Psalm 148).
Notes
In addition to the rehearsals listed below specifically for Christmas in Cookeville, we will have one extra “extended rehearsal” on Wednesday, December 4. That rehearsal will last until 8:00.
If you missed the link at the top, please be sure to RSVP for Christmas in Cookeville using this form.
Christmas in Cookeville has been scheduled for December 13 and December 15. Please mark your calendars and plan to be a part! It’s going to be great. The week of the services, we will have three important rehearsals. Please plan to attend these as well:
Sunday afternoon, Dec. 8 (3-5p): band/orchestra only
Tuesday evening, Dec. 10 (6-8p): full rehearsal
Wednesday evening, Dec. 11 (6-8p): full rehearsal
Prayer requests
Jack Dillon (Grace’s husband) with heart issues.
Reagan Bagci, continued prayer for healing and further treatment.
Amanda Johnson, facing knee surgery next Wednesday.
Ricky Gentry (former choir member and brother to Kim Hanna), sick and on hospice at home.
An Extra
On Sunday, we are singing Praise His Name (Psalm 148), by Sovereign Grace Music. This is a great new(ish) song that we’ll plan on introducing as a congregational song in 2025.
I love introducing songs to the church that are based on the psalms. After all, the book of Psalms is basically “God’s hymnal”—actual songs that His people have been singing for centuries. Singing the psalms are a way that we can (1) sing God’s Word back to Him and (2) connect with the saints throughout history.
Here’s a video recording of the song if you’d like to take a look/listen to become more familiar with it.
See you Sunday,
Andy
