Happy Thursday!
Here’s what you need to know this week:
This Sunday
Full worship ministry is leading - choir, band, and orchestra. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Call time for choir is 8:30am in the choir room. The big anthem, Psalm 34 (Taste and See) is up!
The sermon text for the day comes from Acts 4:32-5:11, and Jesse Haywood will be preaching.
We’re singing Hosanna (Praise is Rising), He is Our God, Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery, and Psalm 34 (Taste and See).
Notes
Reminder: next Wednesday’s rehearsal (March 27) will extend to 8:00p. Please make every effort to attend the full time as we finish prep for Good Friday.
Our Good Friday service is next Friday, March 29 at 6:00p. Please be in the worship center ready to sound check at 5:00p (or just as soon as you can get there if you are coming from work). Dress is all black, and please remember to refrain from using excessive perfume.
We have a need for help with a specific weekly worship ministry task that requires a little musical knowledge, familiarity with a computer, and an enjoyment for tedious, precise work. If that sounds like something you might like to volunteer for, please contact me for details.
If you didn’t get enough music theory in choir rehearsal last night, here’s a brief explainer of the different seventh chords for your edification.
Prayer requests
Reagan Bacgi—pray that he continues to improve and that his allograft fuses together over the next few months.
Skip Ritter, undergoing extensive spinal surgery on April 17.
Emily Leopold’s (alto) brother and wife, trying to adopt a child with a difficult home situation.
David Barrett (cancer)
The Gaw family, who lost Eddie Gaw Jr. yesterday.
An Extra
I wanted to pass along another free resource for you, this time in the area of apologetics: Can We Trust the Gospels? by Peter Williams.
This is an e-book that talks about how we came to have the Scripture we have today, and how we know we can trust it as a reliable account. This is a great resource for answering tough questions for skeptics, or for encouraging your own faith that God has preserved His Word for us through history.
(If you’re not into reading e-books but are interested in this topic, I have a hard copy of this book in my office you are welcome to borrow!)
