Worship Ministry Weekly Update

It’s great to be back!

Happy Thursday! Here’s what you need to know this week:

This Sunday

Full worship ministry is leading - choir, band, and orchestra. Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Call time for choir is 8:30am in the choir room.

The sermon text for the day comes from 2 Kings 22-23, and Jesse Haywood will be preaching.

We’re singing Psalm 150 (Praise the Lord), The Solid Rock, His Mercy is More, and Show Us Christ.

Notes

  1. As the new year begins, be sure to remember to check in with your connect group if you have special prayer requests or if you are going to miss a rehearsal. If you need a reminder of who is in your group, you can check out this spreadsheet or just reach out to me or April.

  2. As I mentioned last night, we are always looking for volunteers to help plug into the various worship-ministry related activities of our church. Right now, we have three opportunities to help: in kids choirs (Sundays at 5pm), in a new student choir program (Sundays at 5pm), and at the Youth Worship Project conference that we are hosting on February 2-3. If you are interested in helping in any of these, please let me or April know via email or text.

  3. There is a brand new service on Planning Center under the “Special Services” folder with a list of big anthem songs for this semester. Several of these songs include voice part specific listening tracks. The service is called “Spring 2024 listening.” Check it out sometime!

Prayer requests

  • Madison Rawls (Dustin/Mandy’s daughter), with second degree burns on her foot. Pray it will heal without needing skin grafts.

  • Dennis Baker, having knee replacement Monday.

  • Kathleen Marshall, whose cancer is out of remission. She is waiting on bone marrow test results and has an echocardiogram scheduled for later in the month.

  • Terri Ritter, having abdominal surgery next Thursday.

  • Reagan Bagci (along with Ali and Michelle), as Reagan goes back to school.

  • Emily Leupold’s brother and wife, in the process of adopting a baby girl whose mom is in a bad situation.

An Extra

Here’s a video of Prestonwood Baptist worship ministry’s version of a song on our line-up for this year.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I am praying you have a great weekend and that you come to church Sunday ready to lead our church in treasuring Christ together!
