December 7, 2023
Happy Thursday! Here’s what you need to know going into this important weekend:
Coming Up
This Sunday
Scripture text: Matthew 1:1-17
Angels from the Realms of Glory (Emmanuel)
God the Uncreated One (King Forevermore)
O Come All You Unfaithful
Before the Throne of God Above
Notes
Sunday evening is our Christmas worship service! It will begin at 5:00p. Call time for orchestra and A/V is 3:30, and call time for choir is 3:45 in the choir loft.
Regarding dress for our Christmas service, we will again do all black, with a pop of red. (Gentlemen, I highly recommend putting your eyes on that black shirt today instead of waiting until Sunday).
An important note for the Christmas service (and every Sunday)—please refrain from heavy use of perfumes or colognes (this goes for ladies and guys). In tight quarters, perfumes can cause problems for many people, especially going into the winter months when the heat is running. Thank you for your help and cooperation in this.
Reminder: the key code to enter the choir room area is 2064. Please do not share this will anyone outside the worship ministry or security team.
Worship Ministry Banquet
Monday, December 18 at 6:00p in the Fellowship Hall
This will be fun time of food and fellowship for our worship ministry family (along with a few surprises)! Spouses and families are invited (we will have arrangements for children under 17). We have added table hosts!
We need three things from you:
(1) Please RSVP so we know how many people to expect! Just fill out this quick form: [click here]
(2) If you are willing, please sign up to bring a dish to share. You can do that here: [click here]
(3) If you are willing to host a table, you can sign up here: [click here]
Prayer Requests
We’ve had several worship ministry members lose family members in the past few weeks. Please pray for the families of Betty Chaffin (lost her brother), Dee Bean (lost her father), Jennifer Ledbetter (lost her father), and Grace Dillon (lost her mother).
Debbie Swafford, who went to the hospital last night with high blood pressure and vertigo, but has been released with clear tests.
Amy Lou Gentry, sick with respiratory illness that is causing her baby’s heart rate to be elevated. Pray for her recovery and a safe baby.
Our Christmas worship service! Pray for the lost who will be in attendance.
Reagan Bagci and family (Ali, Michelle) as they, Lord willing, near the end of Reagan’s cancer treatment at St. Jude.
Pastor Scott, as he prepares to preach the Word on Sunday.
Looking to pray something specific for our church? Pray Ephesians 3:16-19.
