Worship Ministry Weekly Update

Happy Thursday!

Here’s what you need to know this week:

This Sunday

This Sunday, full worship ministry is leading! Call time for instrumentalists, praise team, and A/V is 8:00am on stage. Call time for choir is 8:35am in the choir room.

Mark will be leading this Sunday.

Search Team

Please consider setting aside some time each day or each week to pray for the worship pastor search team.  This process will have some ups and downs, and the search team will need your constant encouragement, prayer, and patience as they seek the new man that God will be calling to lead us in worship.  Here is a list of our search team members:

  • Eric Edgemon

  • Dale Bohannon

  • Luke Bryant

  • Brent Holland

  • Teri Anderson

  • Kimily Dement

  • Julie Galloway

Upcoming Schedule

TONIGHT AT 6:00 - Women of Worship!

September 28 - Multigen Sunday

October 8 - No rehearsal (Fall Break)

October 12 - Praise team/rhythm section only in the morning and no kids choirs in the evening

Prayer requests

  • Continue to pray for Bridget’s mom and their family. She will be going home mid-September, and there is much for them to do as they prepare.

  • Tracy Bruneau, undergoing weekly chemo treatments.

  • Paige Gazaway’s dad broke L3 in his back and is waiting on an ortho appointment.

  • Mike Anderson has had a series of heart tests this week.

  • Continue to pray for Ms. Drucilla as she recovers from the shingles.

  • Debbie Baker asked for prayer last night for her dad’s leg surgery scheduled for today. He ended up in the ER this morning for shortness of breath and heart concerns, so surgery has been canceled and he is being admitted to the hospital this afternoon.

  • Pray for the man God is preparing to be our next Worship Pastor. Pray for our church leadership and the search team as they begin the process.

An Extra

Do you struggle with how you consume the news these days? It is so easy to catch a headline, chase a rabbit, then find yourself thirty minutes later feeling uneasy, anxious, or a myriad of other things. Colossians 3:2 says to “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” This summer I came across a Christ-centered news source called The Pour Over that has really been a blessing to me.

Here are some things I love about it:

  • They present news stories from an unbiased perspective, and it comes directly to my email three times a week.

  • Stories are followed by a Bible verse on which to meditate, as well as an encouragement toward eternal perspective and Christian response.

  • They like to throw in a cute or funny thing to look at in the middle of the email.

  • They offer a family-oriented news story every Thursday called Decaf, which offers discussion points to use when talking about the news with your kids.

Check it out for yourself here! It is completely free to subscribe.

See you Sunday!
