Thanks for being a part of our multigenerational worship day at Stevens Street! Here are some important details for you:
When is Multigen Sunday?
This Sunday, March 3 during both morning worship services.
What is going on this Sunday?
Middle and high school students are invited to join the adult choir to lead worship in both morning worship services (9:00 and 10:30). In addition, students will be playing instruments in our band and orchestra, and all our kids choirs will be participating as well. We plan to have well over 100 participants on the stage.
What do I need to do?
If you are interested in singing, just meet me in the choir loft in the worship center at 8:40am on Sunday morning so I can get you settled into your place. You will be on the platform during the music portion only of the worship service, then exit the stage with the choir and either head to your Life Group (in the 9:00 service) or sit in the worship service (in the 10:30 service). Before the 10:30 service begins, you’ll just head up to the choir loft whenever you come in to the worship center (hopefully by about 10:20). Instrumentalists and soloists have been receiving separate communication about their involvement, including an extra rehearsal on Wednesday night.
What are we singing?
The songs for Sunday are God So Loved, Amazing Grace, Come Unto Jesus, and Turn Your Eyes. These are the songs we’ve worked extensively in our Sunday 4:00 practices. The lyrics will be on the screens for you.
What are we supposed to wear?
We don’t have any specific requirements for what we wear in worship ministry. However, since we are on a raised platform in front of a lot of people in stage lighting (and possibly on camera), we ask all our worship ministry members to be especially careful with what we wear so we don’t distract our church from the main thing we’re there to do—worship God! The general rule is if you’re not sure, don’t wear it.
Here are the general clothing guidelines we give to our worship ministry members as a resource for you.
We’re all looking forward to a great day of worship together! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You can reach me (Andy) at ahammond@stevensstreet.org.
See you Sunday!
