CHANGE IN SERIES

Due to a recent schedule change for Scott, he will be out of town on Sunday, October 12th. He was scheduled to preach on Daniel 6, but will now move that message to Sunday, October 19th. A standalone message will be given on October 12th.

We will keep the Life Group material in the same order so we do not create confusion since it is the last lesson in our discussion guide. That being said, you will still cover Daniel 6 on October 12th. When you receive your new discussion guide, October 19th will be a standalone lesson.

CHILI & SOUP COOKOFF

Thank you for sharing with your group members about this event. We are halfway to our goal of 30 participants when we hit 15 on Sunday morning! Please continue to share this with your group as it is a great way to have fun and connect with our College and Young Adult ministry!

The cookoff will be held on Sunday, September 28th. More information, as well as registration for the event, can be found here.

BREAKFAST FOR COLLEGE & YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

Over the last year or so, we changed from having a weekly lunch for our College & Young Adult ministry (CYAM) to a monthly lunch. As a result we have seen better attendance at these CYAM events. We also reduced the strain on our adult Life Groups by shifting from missing Life Group and prepping lunch 3-4 times (or more!) per year to providing food for our lunches only once a year.

As our CYAM has evolved, we have discovered a new way that Life Groups can contribute: breakfast.

This Sunday, we launched 3 new Life Groups due to the amount of growth we have seen over the last few months! With our new groups, we fully expect the growth to continue. At the same time, our needs for lunch items have not been as significant as they have been in the past due to our lunch selections.

All that being said, we would love it if your group would consider providing breakfast once a year instead of lunch. We would even love it if some group members connected with some of our College and Young Adults during their breakfast time to increase multi-generational connection with them. Also, we also know that making breakfast can be easier at times than making items for lunch, plus it removes the worry of keeping the food warm at the church until lunch.

Maybe your group could make pancakes or waffles in our GA kitchen? Or maybe your group would like to make some breakfast casseroles and drop them off before you go to worship or Life Group? Or maybe a group would want to buy some breakfast sandwiches from McDonalds or Bojangles for our CYAM?

I would love to talk with you more about this if your group would be interested in this. It would be a fun way to serve in our church and help us provide another environment where college and young adults could connect even more.

Thanks for considering this and I look forward to myself or one of our leaders telling you more about this in the future!
