THE SOUP-ER SHOWDOWN

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are currently in need of about 10-15 more soups for our Soup-er Showdown (formerly known as our Chili and Soup Cookoff) this Sunday. Our CYAM has grown quite a bit which means more people will be in attendance. Unfortunately, we have not had as many people sign up this year. Without soup, there isn’t much of a lunch!

Could you send a message to your Life Group and let them know about this urgent need? We would greatly appreciate it!

If someone is willing to provide soup, please have them contact Dave Charlton directly at 423-416-0589.

The Soup-er Showdown will be held Sunday, September 20th at 12p immediately after the second worship service. This event has always been a huge hit for our church as it allows our College and Young Adults to connect with the rest of our church body.

Just like every year, lots of soups will be needed to make this event a success! Starting this Sunday, people can sign up in the lobby to enter the event and let us know what they are bringing. Drinks, sample cups, white bread, napkins, spoons, and extension cords will be provided. We just need you to supply the soup!

It is encouraged to bring your soup to the fellowship hall in a "crock-pot" or some type of dish which can keep it warm, as we will have no way of warming your soup on Sunday morning. It is also encouraged to "buy" votes from college students with candy or various other ways to grab their attention. The wilder your setup, the better! The top three soups by vote will be announced as winners.

DIGITAL LIFE GROUP MATERIAL

Due to The Word series being so popular in our church, we ran out of hard copies of the Life Group material even after ordering 425 copies. This is far more than we have ever needed before until now. I ordered 500 copies for our next discussion guide so we should have plenty of material going forward!

That being said, if someone does not have Life Group material in your group, they can access it by scanning the QR code posted in your room. This will allow them to see the material on their phone whenever they need it.

The next guide will be available on Sunday, October 18th.
