NO WEDNESDAY PM LIFE GROUPS THIS WEEK
Just a quick reminder that if you have a Wednesday night Life Group, you will not meet this week due the church not having any evening activities. Your group will simply skip this week’s lesson and continue along with the reading plan and the dates in your Life Group material.
NEW LIFE GROUP MATERIAL
Our next Life Group discussion guide for The Word will be available on Sunday, October 18th so everyone can have it for October 25th. We will have them available at the upstairs resource center as well at Next Steps outside of the worship center. As a reminder, please encourage your members to pick up their own copy instead of picking up stacks of the material to keep in your room. This helps us ensure we have enough material for everyone. Thanks for your help on this!
ARE YOU SHARING MEMORY VERSES?
Be sure to spend a few minutes every week going over the monthly memory verse as a group. Once a month, take time to review previous memory verses as well. We do not want to create a habit where people memorize a verse and move on from it, but instead continue to say it so they can store up His Word in their heart!
Starting in January, the Memory Verse Review Sheet will be included in the Life Group material so everyone can use it on their own, but also have it as a reminder during your Life Group time to keep reviewing them.
Also, remind your group members to pick up a memory verse card if they haven’t done so already. It’s great to place these in your Bible, on your refrigerator, on your bathroom mirror, or other places that you will see the verse often.
CHALLENGE YOUR GROUP TO READ THEIR BIBLE REGULARLY
As we are midway through our 10th week of reading the Bible together, challenge your group members to read their Bible regularly if they are not doing so already. Our goal is for people to develop strong spiritual disciplines, one of which is Bible engagement, or Bible reading. Encourage them to use the reading plan and read their Bible five days a week, leaving two days to catch up in the event they miss a day. This helps develop the discipline of Bible reading more so than trying to read everything for the week in one day.
