ONE SERVICE ON SEPTEMBER 6TH
Be sure to remind your group members that Life Groups will not meet on Sunday, September 6th. We will have one combined worship at 10a this Sunday.
CLASSROOM STORAGE
As some of you saw in last week’s Life Group News, we have run into some issues with keeping our classrooms de-cluttered due to the amount of usage between multiple groups. Lee Bailey and I met today and we believe we have a solution that will help some of our groups.
Some of our rooms are a good distance away from the Life Group Resource Closet at the end of the C wing. This doesn’t make it very easy when storing items, getting them, or putting them back every week.
When we divided room 206 into two rooms, we squared C206A off by adding storage so the room would like nicer. As a result, this caused us think about some of our other rooms that are not square and due to the odd shape of these rooms, it makes set up for the rooms a little challenging.
By squaring off some of the rooms, we will not lose any space for chairs surprisingly, but will instead allow everyone to see each other more easily. It will also allow us to have smaller storage areas in some of our rooms. This will be major for our College and Young Adult ministry due to the fluctuation in numbers at the beginning of the semester. Last Sunday, all of our CYAM rooms will full, except for maybe 4 chairs. We needed extra folding chairs brought in and thanks to the new storage that we will build, it will provide a great space to keep the chairs without taking up valuable classroom space. People of Promise is another room that will benefit from having storage for their room as well.
While I do not have a start date or end date for all of these storage areas to be built, we will be starting on these soon. I will keep you updated as I learn more.

T-SHIRTS FOR SALE
I have had multiple people ask if they can purchase one of the shirts we are wearing for The Word. We will be taking orders for shirts this Sunday, August 30th and Sunday, September 6th at Next Steps. The cost will be $15 each. Please pass this information along to your group members.
THE SOUP-ER SHOWDOWN
The Soup-er Showdown (formally known as our Chili and Soup Cookoff) will be held Sunday, September 20th at 12p immediately after the second worship service. This event has always been a huge hit for our church as it allows our College and Young Adults to connect with the rest of our church body.
Just like every year, lots of soups will be needed to make this event a success! Starting this Sunday, people can sign up in the lobby to enter the event and let us know what they are bringing. Drinks, sample cups, white bread, napkins, spoons, and extension cords will be provided. We just need you to supply the soup!
It is encouraged to bring your soup to the fellowship hall in a "crock-pot" or some type of dish which can keep it warm, as we will have no way of warming your soup on Sunday morning. It is also encouraged to "buy" votes from college students with candy or various other ways to grab their attention. The wilder your setup, the better! The top three soups by vote will be announced as winners.
