EVERY BELIEVER IS CALLED
Have you thought about how Jesus has called every believer to make disciples?
When Jesus shared the Great Commission, he gave 4 key commands that applied, not only to the disciples, but to all followers of Christ. All of us are called to:
Go
Make Disciples
Baptizing them
Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you
Sometimes I feel that some Christians have heard this passage so often that they gloss over the fact that these are commands from Jesus, not really good suggestions. Every believer has been called to make disciples!
For those of you leading a D-Group, thank you for being obedient to the call and taking on the challenge of making disciples who make disciples. It can be frustrating at times to lead a group for an entire year, only for the group to end without any new groups being launched. Don’t give up and keep doing what you are doing! I promise you are making a difference in the disciple-making process. It’s an amazing feeling when you see someone step out from your group and start their own because God let you be part of the process of equipping him or her to make a kingdom difference!
For those of you participating in a D-Group, take some time to pray about God using you to make disciples in the future. Maybe your group is fairly new and you haven’t talked much about the importance of launching a new group when your current group ends. Start praying now that God will continue to prepare the way for you to start a new group in a few months.
Maybe your group has 2-3 months left and your group is talking about launching a new group and who you can invite to your group. I want to challenge you to sincerely pray about taking this step. If the idea of leading a group scares you, talk to God about it….He already knows! Let him work in your life and trust him to keep equipping you through your group so you can disciple others. Remember, you don’t have to know everything in the Bible, you just have to be obedient and let God take care of the rest.
Thank you to all of you for being part of our D-Group ministry! God may be using you to help others launch new groups. But he also may be using you to help someone read their Bible faithfully for the first time. He may be using you to help someone memorize Scripture regularly for the first time as well. Keep encouraging each other and living out Proverbs 27:17, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”
IMPORTANT FIRST STEP
Before registering your new D-Group, be sure you have watched our “How to Start a D-Group” videos that are designed to prepare you for launching a successful D-Group. This is important before moving forward to launch a group.
All D-Group leaders MUST register their group before their first meeting. This allows us to get you your D-Group Launch Kit and help you take steps toward leading a successful D-group.

Here is a resource called Prayer and Fasting by Michael Engle. It is a free 48 page study guide that you can download or read here.
While it is designed to be a discussion guide, I recommend reading the following sections since they can guide you and your D-Group through a fast together. Reading the entire study, without answering the questions, would be very beneficial for you as well.
Introduction (p. 7-12) - This explains the different types of fasts, the basics of what a fast is, how to do it, and when to do it.
Appendix 2 (p 38-39) - This section gives you the basics, practical advice, temptations, and a summary of conclusions on what to expect and how do to it.
Remember, consider using the recommended lengths of time mentioned in your D-Group Leader Guide when fasting. The purpose of fasting as a D-Group is to introduce people to the concept of fasting, not necessarily fast for multiple days.

Intentional by Brandon Guidon
This is probably one of my favorite discipleship books right now. It shows how we can live out 8 principles of disciple-making that we can easily implement by being intentional in our everyday lives. I highly recommend getting this book!
Disciple Her by Kandi Gallaty
Even though this is a book written for women, there is so much application for anyone leading a D-Group. I highly recommend men AND women read this book. Kandi provides great tips that we do not always cover in training, but may work well in your group.
Write It On Their Hearts by Chris and Melissa Swain
If you would like to start discipling your family, this is an excellent resource.
