Start a LifeGroup

We desire for LifeGroups to be organizations through which believers are discipled in the faith, to the point that they will take what they have received and pass it on to others.

Paul instructed his disciple, Timothy, to follow this principle when he said to him, “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2) LifeGroups may be started at any time, based on the availability of trained leaders to support the start of new groups and under the leadership of the Minister of Outreach and Christian Development. The following requirements must be met by the group leader in order to start a new LifeGroup.

  • The group leader must have been a member of SSBC for at least six months.
  • The leader must have demonstrated a commitment to small group ministries by having been an active participant in an existing LifeGroup. (Recommendation from an existing leader is always a great way to start.)
  • The person who desires to start the group must participate in our Leadership Training Process called “TurboGroup”. (Link to Leadership Training: Not on site as of now) This is a semester-long process conducted each spring semester. Look for the start date on the church calendar, and plan on attending that training if you sense God may be leading you to start a LifeGroup.

The leader must agree to the LifeGroup Leader’s Covenant.
