Our Mission
At Stevens Street Baptist Church we want every member of our church to experience life to the fullest. Through our worship, maturation and servanthood, we become fully alive in Christ.
Serve
Just as with worship and maturing, Serving in the name of Jesus takes on two different paths. Individuals may serve God in many capacities. However, there is real community in serving together with fellow believers (Heb. 12:28).

Worship
The word “worship” means to bow (Psalm 95:6). It means to have a heart that wants to please Christ and that is willing to follow Him wherever He leads. When a person worships Jesus, he or she bows his or her heart before Him, ready and willing to please Him in whatever He asks (Matt. 4:10). Since worship is an attitude of the heart, it can’t be limited to Sunday mornings. True worship happens when the heart is consistently bowing to Christ every day. The first essential of worship is to notice Who is at the center of true worship. This is Christ. When a person bows before a king, the focus is not the person, but the king. In the same way, Christ is the focus of a worshipful life. He is the center. When Christ is at the center of our hearts, the other essentials of worship fall into place. These more practical aspects of a worshipful life are: daily time in God’s Word, prayer, fellowship, and evangelism. These elements flow naturally out of a heart that desires to please and follow Jesus.

Mature
Maturing is becoming more Christ-like. It means that our thoughts, feelings, words, and actions are increasingly becoming like those of Christ (Eph. 4:11-13).
