Preschool Director
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION:
The Preschool Director is responsible to our Heavenly Father, to the
Pastor, and to the congregation at Stevens Street Baptist Church for
planning, promoting, and evaluating the educational ministry of our
church family for birth through Pre-K.
Qualifications:
1. Gives evidence of being a born again Christian, dependent on prayer
and rooted in the Word.
2. Has a great commitment to the local church.
3. Exhibits a high standard of morality and Christian conduct.
4. Has a definite sense of calling from God into ministry children.
5. Exhibits an ongoing commitment to training.
6. Committed to teamwork as a church leader.
7. Must be of reasonably good health and able to perform all physical
tasks associated with children’s ministry and seek to maintain a
healthy lifestyle.
Responsibilities:
1. Must have a heart and love for preschoolers and their families.
2. Provide some administrative support to the assigned Ministerial staff
member.
3. Help plan and coordinate events related to the Preschool Ministry.
4. Order and distribute supplies and materials weekly.
5. Organize and maintain supply closet.
6. Help plan and provide Preschool leadership training events.
7. Maintain pagers and preschool security tags.
8. Recruit volunteers to work with children.
9. Help create the monthly parent newsletter.
10. Visit and encourage new mothers after the birth of their child.
11. Take part in Baby Dedications.
12. Responsible for Sunday morning duties within the preschool department.
13. Meet weekly with staff.
14. Attend at least one conference a year, with the purpose of staying current on the ministry to preschoolers.
